Milestone of 90,000 vehicles deregistered
MJD's vehicle dismantling center has reached a new milestone: more than 90,000 end-of-life vehicles have been received, cleaned up, and given added value since the start of operations.
MJD has surpassed 90,000 end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) processed at its facilities in Guidões, Trofa.
This number represents decades of continuous activity as an authorized dismantling center, integrated into the Valorcar network.
Each of these vehicles has undergone a rigorously regulated process. Upon receipt, a Certificate of Destruction is issued, a document that assures the owner of the definitive cancellation of the vehicle's registration and the extinction of all liabilities associated with it.
Then comes the decontamination process: removal of oils, fuels, coolant and brake fluids, batteries, filters, and pyrotechnic components.
Only then does the vehicle proceed to dismantling, with the separation of parts destined for reuse and the forwarding of remaining materials—ferrous, non-ferrous, glass, plastics—to their respective recovery circuits.
The next milestone is in sight. We plan to reach vehicle number 100,000 sometime this year, 2026 — and we don't intend to let the date pass unnoticed.
