Collaboration with the Fire Brigade

The MJD facilities in Guidões regularly host drills and training exercises for various fire departments in the Northern region, putting our fleet of end-of-life vehicles at the service of preparing rescue teams.

MJD maintains regular collaboration with several fire brigade in the North of the country, providing end-of-life vehicles and space in its Guidões facilities for conducting simulations and extrication training.

Access to real vehicles is crucial in the training of rescue teams. The constructive evolution of automobiles — high-strength steels, multiple airbag systems, distinct architectures — has profoundly altered intervention procedures in road accidents. Training on representative models of the vehicle fleet in circulation allows operators to test techniques, tools, and response times in conditions close to the real scenario.

All vehicles provided are previously subjected to depollution, with the removal of fluids, batteries, and pyrotechnic components, ensuring that the exercises take place under controlled safety conditions.

After use, the vehicles follow the normal dismantling and valorization circuit.

For MJD, this practice reflects a simple conviction: the resources we manage can generate value for the community even before returning to the production cycle. Making our facilities and resources available to civil protection is a concrete—and unceremonious—way of giving back to the region where we have operated for over three decades.
