On [date], MJD conducted an emergency response drill at its facilities in Guidões, Trofa, with the participation of the Trofa Volunteer Firefighters, the Municipal Civil Protection Service, and the GNR.

The exercise was based on a fire scenario in a waste storage area, with simulated propagation and the need to evacuate the affected area. The sequences outlined in the Internal Emergency Plan were tested: alarm detection and communication, action by the first intervention team, power shutdown in the sector, evacuation to assembly points, headcount, and activation of external resources.

Coordination with external entities was one of the main objectives. The Firefighters managed the firefighting and field operations command; Civil Protection handled institutional coordination; and the GNR was responsible for access and perimeter control. For the emergency forces, the exercise also provided an opportunity for prior reconnaissance of the facility — layouts, hydrants, access points, and the nature and location of stored materials — information that is crucial for a fast real-life response.

MJD would like to express its gratitude for the availability and dedication of the Trofa Volunteer Firefighters, the Municipal Civil Protection Service, and the GNR.
